About us
    • The North American Institute of Medical Herbalism, Inc. offers introductory, advanced, and clinical training in medical herbalism and clinical nutrition in the vitalist tradition.
       

    •  We offer classroom, clinical, field training, and distance learning formats. Anyone may purchase our distance learning materials at our Secure Store, even if not enrolled in the courses.

    • We teach and practice in the Vitalist Tradition of medicine and healing. See the description of Vitalism on our index page.
    • We publish textbooks in medical herbalism, clinical nutrition, and ethnobotany, including classical texts in Physiomedical and Eclectic physician-level herbalism, in print and CD-ROM formats
       

    • We publish the quarterly Medical Herbalism journal (since 1989).
       

    • We operate the Evergreen Center, a multi-practitioner sliding-scale holistic center in Boulder, Colorado.
       

    • We are approved and Regulated by the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Private Occupational School Board. We are not accredited, and students are not eligible for federal government loans.
       

    • We have published educational materials and offered conferences and continuing education since 1989
       

    • We began offering classroom and clinical education in January 2004
       

    • Our faculty members are certified herbalists with professional clinical experience and strong backgrounds in clinical nutrition. Each also has a professional background in education. Regular faculty undergo a credentialing process by the Colorado Department of Higher Education.
